Benefits Counseling is a unique service that is provided at North Shore Hematology/Oncology Associates. It is to assist patients that are without insurance or are under-insured. We offer guidance on how to appropriately select the best possible insurance to fit your individual needs. We provide referrals and help patients in the application process for the numerous non-profit organizations. Most patients are unaware that there are nonprofit organizations that offer grants to patients that are suffering from catastrophic illnesses. These grants, when awarded are given to the patient to cover the sometimes expensive costs of their chemotherapy co-pays fror both IV and oral medications. In addition, we can offer assistance in finding programs that can help alleviate high costs the patient might acquire due to inadequate pharmacy benefits on various other prescription medications. These programs upon application and approval, provoide these medications directly to the patient free of charge or at very reasonable low monthly costs.
