All patients have questions and concerns before starting treatment. Our on site nurse educator, will help you understand the treatment you will receive and prepare you on what to expect from receiving your treatment.

The Important Principles For Providing Patient Education Are:

To reduce the anxiety associated with embarking on an unknown treatment plan prior to the chemotherapy experience. This is done by familiarizing the patient with names, rationale, side effects and support of those side effects for the drugs they are to receive in a simple and realistic manner.

The patients are informed of their protocol administration route, frequency and approximate length fo stay.

All required pre-treatment testing and scripts necessary for the safe delivery of treatment are reviewed.

A checklist to aid patients and families to have an active part in their health care and maintenance is supplied.

Patients are informed about the procedures for starting their treatment and they are given a physical tour of the infusion centers.
